Counterbore According to DIN 974, standard outer-diameter wedge-locking washers can be used in screw fastening methods with a counterbore. As shown in the diagram, the washer is installed beneath the head of the standard screw.
Through Hole For fastening methods with through holes, two pairs of wedge-locking washers are required—one pair to lock the screw and the other pair to lock the nut. When the screw is tightened, the nut is also locked in place.
